Initial situation: No standardized shop floor management

Production at Ziehl-Abegg was characterized by different shop floor management practices. Some areas worked completely without structured meetings, while others relied on analog systems or Excel lists. The result: high manual maintenance effort, inconsistent processes and a lack of transparency.

As there was no central platform for monitoring KPIs, tasks and deviations, a lot of information had to be painstakingly collected. Important data was lost or reached the right people too late. The exchange between locations and departments was slow and inefficient - an obstacle to fast, data-based action.

Ziehl-Abegg was looking for a scalable solution to solve these challenges in the long term.

The implementation was carried out step by step and with the direct involvement of the teams.

  1. Rapid introduction & onboarding
    After a structured kick-off with the ValueStreamer® consulting team, the first digital shopfloor boards were created. Managers and employees received targeted training to ensure a smooth transition.
  2. Automated KPI recording & real-time dashboards
    Previously, KPIs were maintained manually - with ValueStreamer®, data collection & aggregation is automated. Managers have an overview of all relevant KPIs in real time and can make data-based decisions.
  3. Deviation management & continuous process optimization
    Thanks to the digital linking of KPIs with measures & responsibilities, bottlenecks can be identified at an early stage and rectified immediately. Standardized workflows ensure that problems are not only documented but also solved sustainably.
  4. Scaling to other plants & divisions
