👤 Role-based rights on boards
-
Permissions are determined by the team role (Member, Administrator, Guest) and team membership.
-
System administrators have global access—regardless of team roles.
📖 Read vs. ✏️ Write permissions
Task Board
-
Read access:
-
Public boards are visible to all team members.
-
Private teams: visible only to assigned members.
-
-
Write access:
-
Only members or team administrators can edit or create tasks.
-
Guests have no write permissions.
-
Process Board
-
Same rules as the Task Board.
-
Additional: Only team administrators can edit process templates or create processes.
🔄 Cascading: Transfer & Permissions
When a task or measure is cascaded:
-
The originating team retains write permissions.
-
The receiving team can see the entry but cannot edit it.
-
Exception: The receiving team gets write permissions only if:
-
A member of the receiving team is also the creator.
-
The task is explicitly shared with the team.
-
Note:
-
Deviations are an exception—when cascaded, the originating team has read-only access.
-
Private teams: invisible to non-members; no access to attendance, boards, or content.
-
Guest roles: cannot see or join teams, no participation in boards or processes.
✨ Tips & Best Practices
✔️ Assign roles clearly: Member = active, Guest = read-only.
✔️ Use private teams for sensitive areas (e.g., HR, strategy).
✔️ Regularly review team memberships—especially in multi-team projects.
✔️ Use cascading for delegation without giving away editing rights.
