This article explains how to merge multiple thematically related deviations in the deviations list into a single parent deviation. This improves clarity and supports efficient deviation management.

🛠️ How it works

  • Navigate to your team’s “Deviation Management” tab.

  • Switch to the deviations list if you are currently in the actions section.

  • Select at least two deviations by checking the boxes to the left of the entries.

  • Click the “🔗 Merge” button above the list.

📌 Note on different categories

  • If the selected deviations belong to different categories, the merge will initially be blocked.

  • In this case, an information dialog will appear.

  • Change the categories of the deviations to a uniform value to proceed with the merge.

A dialog will open to create the new parent deviation.

  • Enter a title and the other required information, then save.

ℹ️ Info

  • The original deviations remain but are linked to the new main deviation.

  • Only deviations within the same team can be merged.

  • When merging, ensure the deviations are categorized consistently.

  • 📌 Give the new deviation a clear, descriptive name, e.g., “Delivery Delay Q2 – Overview.”

What happens to the individual deviations?
→ They remain and are automatically linked to the new main deviation.

Can I undo a merge?
→ ❌ No, a merge cannot be undone. Carefully review whether deviations should be merged before proceeding.

Why can’t I merge deviations?
→ Check whether the deviations have different categories. Standardize them to perform the merge.
