🧮 Aggregating KPIs and Using Sub-Tiles

In ValueStreamer, KPI aggregation automatically consolidates values along the team hierarchy. In addition, sub-tiles allow for more detailed breakdowns within a team – for example, by shifts or production lines. This ensures maximum transparency and a consistent data basis for all decision-making levels.

📌 What Does “Aggregation” Mean?
When aggregation is enabled, actual and target values of a KPI are automatically consolidated from subordinate teams and displayed in higher-level teams.

📌 Prerequisites for a functioning aggregation:

  • The KPI has the exact same name in all teams.

  • Aggregation logic (e.g., sum, average) is enabled.

Benefit:
Aggregation creates a consolidated view of performance data across all teams – from operational to management level.

Prerequisites

  • 🔑 Admin or write permissions in the team

  • ⚙️ An existing KPI with activated aggregation logic

  • 🧭 Access to KPI templates in system settings

  • 🧭 Access to team administration

🛠️ Configuring Aggregation & Sub-Tiles

1️⃣ Enable Aggregation Logic in the KPI Template

  • Open the System Settings via the gear icon.

  • Navigate to Templates → KPIs.

  • Edit the desired KPI.

  • Go to step 4: Aggregation & Status Rule.

  • Enable the option "KPI aggregation".

  • Select the desired aggregation logic:

    • Sum

    • Average

    • Product

  • Save the configuration.

  • Open the team, click the gear icon → Available KPIs.

  • Add the KPI.

3️⃣ Create Sub-Tiles in the Team
👉 Sub-tiles let you break down a KPI further within a team (e.g., by shift or production line).

  • Name the sub-tiles (e.g., Morning Shift, Evening Shift, Night Shift).

  • Reorder sub-tiles if necessary.

  • Save changes.

Note: Sub-tiles appear in both the entry form and the KPI detail view.

💡 Notes on How It Works

  • Aggregation happens automatically as soon as new values are entered in the child team.

  • Aggregation always flows from bottom to top (child team → parent team).

  • Sub-tiles are also aggregated – their values are fully included in the aggregation.

  • The aggregation logic cannot be changed after saving – check carefully beforehand!

FAQ

What happens if I don’t enable aggregation?
→ The KPIs remain isolated at team level, with no automatic consolidation.

Are sub-tiles also aggregated?
→ ✅ Yes, sub-tiles are included in aggregation.

Can I change the aggregation logic later?
→ ❌ No, it cannot be changed after saving.

How many sub-tiles can I create?
→ There’s no technical limit, but clear and few categories (e.g., shifts, lines) are recommended.
