🔧 Creating and Editing Tasks

This article explains how to create, edit, and manage tasks in ValueStreamer® — including special features like T-Cards, drag-and-drop linking, and takt closure.

✅ Creating tasks

  1. Open your team’s Task Board.

  2. Click the ➕ icon in the top right to create a new task.

  3. The Create Task form opens.

  4. Fill in all required fields:

    • 📝 Title

    • 👥 Team

    • 👤 Responsible person

    • 🗂️ Category

    • 📅 End (Planned)

    • ⏳ Effort (Planned)

  5. Optional fields:

    • 📆 Start (Planned / Actual), End (Actual)

    • ⏱️ Effort (Actual)

    • 🏷️ Label, 🔺 Priority, 🔁 T-Card, 🔗 linked process

  6. Click Create or Create Another Entry to save.

✏️ Editing a task

  • Click an existing task (📋 card or 📄 list view).

  • The detail view opens in focus mode.

  • You can edit:

    • 📝 Title

    • 📅 Time data

    • 🖊️ Description

    • 🏷️ Labels, 🔺 Priority

  • Don’t forget to save changes!


🔁 Recurring tasks (T-Card)

  • When creating a task, check the T-Card box 🔁.

  • When moving it to “Done,” a dialog appears:
    “T-Card Rescheduling” with option to copy all contents.

  • Clicking OK automatically creates a new task in the 📦 backlog.

🔗 Linking to other elements

Drag and drop one of these icons onto the task:

  • ⚠️ Deviation

  • ⭐ Top Topic

  • 🗨️ Feedback

  • 👀 Go & See

The corresponding input form opens automatically.
After saving, the link is active.

📊 Task status & visualization

Each task shows its status via a colored marker:

  • 🔴 Created

  • 🔵 Planned

  • 🟢 In Progress

  • ⚫ Completed (archived)

Also visible on the card:

  • 📝 Title

  • 👤 Responsible person

  • 🏷️ Label

  • 🔺 Priority

  • ⏳ Hours

  • 📅 End date


📦 Takt closure

When closing a takt:

  • ✅ Tasks with status Done are archived.

  • 🔁 Unfinished tasks move automatically to the next takt.

  • Archived tasks remain visible in other teams until their takt is also closed.

ℹ️ Notes

  • 👥 Tasks are always team-specific.

  • 🔒 Only one responsible person per task.

  • 🔁 T-Cards do not automatically update the end date.

  • ✍️ Only users with write permissions can create or edit tasks.

  • 📆 Plan realistic start/end times — important for capacity tracking.

  • 🔁 Use T-Cards for recurring routines.

❓ FAQ

What if I forget the end date?
→ The task cannot be saved without it — it’s a required field.

Can I assign multiple responsible people?
→ No — only one person can be responsible.

Where can I find archived tasks?
→ Use the “Archive” quick filter in the Task Board.

How do I spot overdue tasks?
→ Tasks with past-due end dates that aren’t completed are marked red.
