📊 CORE KPI: Disruption Rate

The disruption rate shows the proportion of unplanned tasks in the takt—tasks that were not planned at the start but were still processed or completed within the takt. This KPI serves as an early warning system for operational turbulence, ad-hoc tasks, and structural gaps in planning.

🛠️ How it works
The disruption rate is automatically calculated when closing the takt.

📥 Requirements

  • The “✅ Close Takt” button must be actively used.

  • Applies to tasks from:

    • 📦 Storage

    • ⏭️ “Next Takt”
that were moved to the “Current Takt” and completed there.

📌 What counts as a disruption?

  • 🔁 Tasks that were newly scheduled after the takt started.

  • ✅ Tasks that were not planned but were completed during the takt.

📐 Calculation formula
Disruption rate (%) =
(Number of unplanned, completed tasks / Total number of completed tasks in the takt) × 100

ℹ️ Info

  • ⚠️ The KPI is not negative but indicates the need for action.

  • 🧮 Calculated only when additional tasks were worked on in the takt.

  • 📊 Complements the hit rate, which only measures planned tasks.

Tips & Best Practices

  • 🔍 Identify recurring disruptions (e.g., rework) and systematically plan them in the future.

  • 📉 Goal: Reduce the disruption rate = process becomes more stable, predictable, and efficient.
